What is laptop batteries

A battery is a physical component that provides power to a device, allowing it to function without the need of a power line. Batteries can often run a laptop computer for many hours, depending on the amount of power it consumes. Many high-end products, such as computers, laptops, and mobile phones, now feature rechargeable batteries, which enable the user to recharge the battery when it runs out of power. The image below shows a close-up of a laptop battery's battery rating. Batteries for computers

There are three distinct kinds of computer batteries. The backup battery, also known as the CMOS battery, stores your computer's settings, such as the time and date. Without a CMOS battery, the time, date, and other system settings would have to be reset each time the computer started.

Second, the bridge battery is used only in portable computers as a backup to the primary battery. A bridge battery enables you to replace the main battery with a new one without shutting down the computer.

Thirdly, the primary battery in portable computers serves as a backup power source for when the device is not plugged into a wall outlet.
